Spice Girls say goodbye - Feb 28 2008
It's official. The Spice Girls have bid a final farewell to cap the end of their successful reunion tour.

"Our time is up. We've come to the end of the road," the fivesome wrote on their official blog.

"We hate goodbyes, but sadly the time has come to take our final bow so maybe our song says it best. Goodbye my friend, it's not the end. So glad we made it, time will never ever change it."

'Baby' Emma Bunton, 'Ginger' Geri Halliwell, 'Posh' Victoria Beckham, 'Sporty' Mel Chisholm, and 'Scary' Mel Brown wrapped up their final date in Toronto - they were due to perform dates in Australia and South America, but family commitments and an overextended schedule meant they had to cut back.

The girls reminisced about the experiences of being back on tour.

"There are tears of both sadness and joy," they added.

"Look how far we've come! Who would have thought that our reunion could have turned out this amazing? It just shows what can grow out of an exciting thought, an idea, a hope, a dream. Our reunion tour is proof that dreams do come true."

Spices attend Mel C’s gig - Feb 12 2008
The Spice Girls turned up to support Mel C when she played a solo gig at New York’s Grand Ballroom.

One member - Posh Spice aka Victoria Beckham - was notably absent, despite being in the city, fuelling speculation of a rift.

The other members of the girl group - Mel B with husband Stephen Belafonte, Emma Bunton with Jade Jones, and Geri Halliwell - stunned fans by cheering, whooping and gave the singer a standing ovation at the end of the acoustic set, even asking for an encore.

Sporty Spice Mel C - real name Melanie Chisholm - performed hits including Northern Star, Return, Carolyna and Let It Rip to a half-empty auditorium, although the intimate crowd of fans were very appreciative, presenting the singer with bouquets of flowers and Liverpool scarves.

She dedicated her final song, I Turn To You, to the Spice Girls, saying: "I want to thank my girls who are here to support me."

The band is in New York for the next leg of their world tour, which sees them playing six dates around New York, and will end in Toronto on February 26.

Spices sorry for cutting tour short - Feb 7 2008

The Spice Girls have apologised for ending their world tour early amid a growing backlash from fans.

The band blamed "family commitments" for the end of the tour, while some reports suggested lack of interest.

Fans who will not be able to see the band after they cancelled plans to perform in Australia, South Africa, China and Argentina have been venting their anger online. Two hate groups have been set up on the Facebook social networking site, Australia’s Daily Telegraph reported.

"They have known all along when their kids go to school or whatever. It’s a cr*ppy excuse, really it’s all just about money... they’ve made enough now so who cares about anywhere else, right?" one ex-fan said online.

Now the Spice Girls, who are said to have made £10 million each from the concerts, have released a video on their website apologising to fans for ending the tour and dismissing reports of infighting.

Mel C says: "There has been a lot of rubbish in the media over the last few days so we wanted you to hear it from the horse’s mouth. We’re very sorry not to be able to get to all the places we wanted to."

In the one-minute video, Victoria Beckham says: "Our kids need to go back to school and we always said our families are our priorities. Sorry we haven’t got to see everybody."
