Big Brother prankster Seany O'Kane was the second housemate to get evicted from the reality TV show tonight when the public failed to see the funny side of his jokes.

Curly-haired Seany, 25, from Manchester, looked stunned when Davina called out his name, but said "it's OK guys, it's cool", while the twins began to cry and a tearful Gerry repeated "Oh my God... where did this come from?"

The Irish-born charity worker surprised housemates when he came out of the closet moments after entering the house with openly gay Greek Gerry, but his constant practical jokes, such as pushing Charley into the pool, soon began to grate.

Mischievous Seany was the bookies favourite for tonight's eviction and lost out to house elders Jonathan and Carole, with 44.5 per cent of the total public vote.

Jonathan sat, open-mouthed, saying: "I can't believe that," while Charley added: "I'm not being funny but how can they take Seany out?"

During his time in the house, Seany shared Big Brother's first gay kiss with Gerry when the housemates played a game of truth or dare.

And he was partly responsible for giving tree-surgeon Liam what the housemates believe is the £100,000 prize money, along with the other nominees, in Wednesday's surprise twist.


Seany surprises friends by coming out - June 19 2007
Big Brother housemate Seany has apparently surprised a string of friends and family who didn’t know he was gay, after coming out on live TV.

Speaking to Star magazine, his mum Sharon O’Kane said she felt "very proud" when he announced his sexuality.

"Seany is a very confident person and I suspect he felt it would be easier to come out right away," she said. "I’m very proud as a mum about the way he handled it. It was a brave thing to do."

The 25-year-old entered the show with Gerry who is also gay - although both confessed they had previously had relationships with women.

Although many of his friends and family were in the dark, he told his mum two years ago.

Sharon said: "He said he wanted to tell me something, and then said he was gay. It was very matter of fact.

"I had no idea, but there was never a big deal made of it. I’ve never had a problem with it. I told him, ’Seany it’s your life and it won’t make me love you any less. You’re still my son. You’re no different’."

Commenting on his growing relationship with Gerry, Sharon added: "What Seany gets up to in the Big Brother house is his business."
