Russell Brand
- Profession: Comedian and Presenter
- Place/Date of Birth: Grays, Essex, England, 04 June 1975
Russell's Royal show? - Mar 10 2008
Russell Brand is reportedly set to team up with Princess Eugenie for a new TV show.
The presenter and the Queen's 17-year-old granddaughter have been working in secret to record the Channel 4 show, reports the Daily Star.
A source is quoted as saying: "Russell and Eugenie are set to front a new Upstairs, Downstairs programme. Each episode will see them experience activities or places that are perceived as either high or low culture, but it is going to be quite fun.
"For example, Eugenie can take Russ to the polo and he can take her to the dogs.
"It won't be any kind of social indictment, just a proper giggle. Eugenie is a talented girl. She sparkles like the Crown Jewels."
Wild-haired Russell, 32 - who previously hosted Big Brother's Big Mouth - was apparently spotted filming with Eugenie at the Keat Museum in Hampstead.
Russell beats Johnny for film role? - Mar 5 2008
Russell Brand has reportedly beaten Johnny Depp to bag the role of Keith Richards in a forthcoming movie.
The wild-haired comedian is said to be among a star-studded line-up - including Australians Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave - in a biopic of The Rolling Stones.
The Kevin Spacey-directed movie, A Summer In Hell, apparently chronicles the hellraising band’s notorious exploits in the south of France.
And as was the case during much of the Stones’ real-life glory years, celebs are reportedly falling over themselves to tag along for the ride.
"There’s practically a cavalcade of A-listers desperate to be involved in the new season," a source told The Daily Star.
"The Stones production is the most popular, as it charts their action-packed summer in Nice, when they even had a shoot-out with a harbour master."
Many pundits believed Johnny Depp was a shoo-in for the role of Keith Richards, after his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in The Pirates of the Caribbean films seemed to borrow from the rocker’s persona.
But the part apparently went to Russell because, at 32, the TV host is 12 years younger than the American heartthrob - and so closer to the age Keith was during the band’s Mediterranean adventures.
Russell’s hair chart - Feb 28 2008
Russell Brand apparently keeps a weather chart next to his front door to protect him from bad hair days.
The TV presenter - who backcombs his long locks into a tousled do - is terrified that strong winds or rain could ruin his style, according to the Daily Star.
Radio 2 DJ Russell apparently tells a BBC producer in a video on the YouTube website: "Sometimes when you have nice hair, you need to know if there’s going to be gales or snow."
A source told the newspaper: "Most Brits are obsessed with the weather but Russell’s taken it further with a chart in his hall.
"He keeps it updated - checking it every day to see what the weather’s going to be like over the next few days. That way he can plan and avoid the worst that’s in store."
The source added: "His hair may look a bit of a mess - but in reality Russell takes a lot of time getting it just right."
Russell is currently in Hollywood where he’s thought to be working on a movie deal for his autobiography My Booky Wook, in which he will reportedly play himself.
Russell’s Dita conquest - Feb 27 2008
Russell Brand has apparently bragged he has seduced Dita Von Teese.
The British TV presenter claims to have met the burlesque star - ex-wife of goth rocker Marilyn Manson - at a pre-Oscars party at Los Angeles’ Chateau Marmont hotel and revealed she gave him her number.

At this time MTV spotted the lanky funny man and gave him Dance Floor Chart to front, followed by their flagship teatime show Select and the UK Jackass. The now defunct UK Play nabbed Russell for his own show, RE:BRAND, in which he did such oddly silly things as bathing with a homeless man and taking part in a boxing match against his Dad. His acting talents were also spotted and he had parts in Channel 4’s White Teeth and Cruise of the Gods alongside Steve Coogan.
In between increasingly popular stand up shows Russell has become famous and loved throughout the Big Brother watching world as the host of Eforum and Big Brother’s Big Mouth in which he banters with fans and ’celebrities’ (mainly Vanessa Feltz, the poor chap) about the incarcerated idiots.
Most recently Russell has been wooed back to MTV to host their latest show, 1 Leicester Square.
