Ozzy Osbourne is the star of a new educational video about the dangers of listening to loud music. The 15-minute video will be played in classrooms across the US and Canada and features Ozzy passing on pearls of wisdom such as "You should be really careful, man - those eardrums are sensitive."
Toilet Talk - 03/12/02 Courtesy of heat Magazine
Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne lock themselves in the bathroom whenever they need privacy from MTV’s cameras. Sharon says, "It’s very romantic with the smell of urine."
Osbournes will shave off their hair - 29/11/02
The Osbourne family have said they will all shave there hair off if Sharon loses hers following her Cancer treatment.
So far Sharon’s hair hasn’t thinned much but Ozzy, Jack and Kelly are ready to come out in solidarity if need be. "We’ll be known as the Osbalds," Sharon told People magazine.
The second season of their MTV show has just started over in the states. Brummie Ozzy says he fell apart and started drinking when Sharon’s cancer was diagnosed last summer. "I don’t think I’ll ever be 100% sober," he says. "I can’t stand AA."
What Queen? - 21/10/02
Ozzy Osbourne has admitted that he has absolutely no idea what the Queen said to him when he met her at the Golden Jubilee celebrations earlier this year. Forget the wild man of rock being under any influence at the time either - it was all down to his nerves. Ozzy can be a bit shaky - as followers of his cult MTV fly on the wall documentary can verify, and it all proved too much when meeting the Queen in the Buckingham Palace line up. Maybe it was down to playing ’Paranoid’ for her.
Ozzy backs Brum - 14/08/02
Ozzy Osbourne has been recruited to head the campaign for Birmingham’s bid to be the European Capital of Culture in 2008.
A spokesperson has said ’He is a huge star at the moment and no one could bring attention and publicity to the bid better than Ozzy, he is a bit rough and ready, but he’s got a heart of gold and that is the sort of image that the city wants to portray.’
Ozzy was, of course, born in Birmingham and is perhaps the world’s most famous Brummie.
Ozzy meets the president - 4/04/02
Our very own Ozzy Osbourne has cast such an impression of George W Bush, he’s been invited to Whitehouse.
The President was so taken by the Black Sabbath’s star documentary recently screened series At Home with the Osbournes, he decided to invite the man himself to dinner.
Ozzy is reported to have said about the invitation: "I thought I’d be up on a wanted poster, not asked to tea."
Ironically, Ozzy even had a life ban from visiting Bush’s home state of Texas after he urinated on the Alamo monument while dressed as a woman.
Apparently the show has re-ignited the aging rockers career in the States.
