Ozzy 'silenced' by pre-Brits fall - Feb 21 2008
Ozzy Osbourne's rather subdued appearance at the Brit Awards was apparently down to him taking a tumble before the show.
The veteran rocker, 59, hardly said a word during the two-hour bash that was televised live from Earls Court, whilst wife Sharon and their daughter Kelly seemed to hog the limelight, reports the Daily Star.
But an insider explained that Ozzy had fallen over twice before the glitzy event: "Ozzy gave himself a real fright. It was touch and go whether things would go ahead as planned. That's why he barely took part in the show."
The source added: "He was meant to be the highlight of the night, promising lots of swearing and bad behaviour. Instead, if you blinked, you missed him. It was like he wasn't there."
Instead Sharon did most of the raucous swearing, by telling drunken presenter Vic Reeves to "p*** off" when he forgot which award he was meant to be handing out.
Ozzy to strip at Brits? - Feb 20 2008
Nervous organisers of the Brit Awards are apparently worried that host Ozzy Osbourne will strip off on stage during the live show.
The Brits bosses have built in a delay of 30 seconds between the show and the live coverage on ITV just in case Ozzy decides to do anything crazy on stage, reports the Daily Star.
A show source said: "All the organisers are chewing their fingernails because of Ozzy’s appearance. They know how unpredictable he is anyway but he has a real devious streak and the minute he realises he will be the centre of attention you know he’ll just want to play up."
The fears follow the Osbournes appearance on Chris Moyles’ Radio One breakfast show, where Sharon revealed that Ozzy has a habit of sleepwalking naked.
She said: "He goes around sleep walking looking for food. You should ask one of our helpers because he has to put this little thing on Ozzy’s door when he’s staying in hotel rooms, and it rings in his room because otherwise Ozzy goes wandering around the hotel."
Ozzy’s Brits fear - Feb 18 2008
Ozzy Osbourne is apparently worried that he might forget the names of acts he has to introduce when he and wife Sharon host the Brit Awards.
The wacky showbiz couple have been lined up to present the annual music awards bash at London’s Earls Court, which will be shown live on ITV1 on Wednesday evening.
But Ozzy, 59, was quoted by the Daily Express as saying: "I can never remember anyone’s name, I’m always putting my foot in it.
"Sharon can meet someone in an airport in 1973, then again in 2005 and remember they’re called Jimmy. Paul McCartney’s really good at that too."
Ozzy is due to announce former Beatle Macca’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the star-studded event - and Sharon apparently hopes she can get the pair working together.
"Ozzy is a big fan of Paul’s, I’d love them to do something together," the X Factor judge was quoted as saying.
Ozzy garage sale raises cancer cash - Dec 3 2007
Heavy metal fans are not usually seen making bids at a high-end auctions, but they turned out in numbers to snatch up a coat with embroidered bats, sneakers with skulls on them and other items put up for sale by Ozzy Osbourne.
"We had Ozzy fans bidding against these sophisticated fine art buyers, which you don’t see every day," said Darren Julien, whose company, Julien’s Auctions, ran the charity sale. "For the most part the metalheads were outbidding the art crowd."
