Lesley: Ziggy really suffered - June 19 2007
Big Brother housemate Lesley Brain has hit out at her fellow female housemates about their treatment of Ziggy.

The male model was the sole man in a house of women at one stage - and 60-year-old Lesley, who walked out of the show, said the girls' behaviour towards him was "shocking and disgraceful".

After seeing the 26-year-old being chased around the house before his shorts were pulled down, she told Closer magazine: "If six men did that to a girl, the show would be shut down. Ziggy was so upset he cried. He really suffered.

"He was trying to be rational with a pack of girls, led by Charley, who didn't show any respect."

Lesley said she felt marginalised by the other contestants.

"They treated me like a dog that needs to be sent to the pound. You just pat it on the head and say 'there, there'.

"To a 19-year-old, 28 is old - let alone 60. I don't feel 60. I wanted to have fun but all anyone wanted to do was sleep."

Big Brother’s Lesley says she knew she’d win a place in the house - because she’s "God’s gift".

The 60-year-old, who walked from the BB house last week declaring she was "frustrated by the stupidity of them all", told the Daily Mail that show bosses would have been crazy not to pick her.

"When I was standing there in the queue for the auditions in Cardiff, it was obvious they’d choose me," she said. "They’d have been mad not to. I was God’s gift! I came wrapped up in a nice little package - middle-class, intelligent!"

Although she was certainly one of the brighter housemates, Les admits she isn’t quite a Cambridge don, as had been reported.

"I wasn’t a Cambridge don," she admits. "I said I was married to a Cambridge don. I was. You just have to drop a couple of words in the media."
