Jennifer Lopez has revealed her surprise that people were actually amazed when they found out about her pregnancy.

"I kind of feel like everybody knew anyway. I was on tour with a bubble gut!" the singer-actress tells Harper’s Bazaar for its February issue.

After months of speculation, J-Lo finally put the rumours to rest in November by announcing at one of her concerts that she was expecting a baby with husband Marc Anthony.

Speaking out about why she kept the baby news quiet, the 38-year-old says: "I do realise people want to know because they’re interested, but this is the first time I’m going through this. This is my experience and my husband’s experience, and we get to hold that for a little while.

"We’re just getting used to the fact that we’ve told everybody."

Jennifer is looking forward to taking a break once the baby arrives.

"I don’t know - and I like that, because my life has been so planned for so many years," she reveals.

"Once I did the tour, I really just wanted to shut it down, and since then, I’ve had to do three things including a video. It may not sound like a lot, but as this point, any woman can sympathise. It is a lot. I was ready just to sit."

Jennifer Lopez has told concertgoers that she and husband Marc Anthony have a baby on the way.

"Marc and I are expecting," the singer and actress told the crowd in Miami, Florida, last night (Wednesday).

After her announcement, Anthony kissed his wife’s belly.

He said: "I didn’t know she was going to talk."

J-Lo, 39, did not say when she is due to give birth.

The star - who tied the knot with Anthony in 2004 - has made no secret of the fact that she was hoping to start a family.

In October, designer Roberto Cavalli confirmed, perhaps inadvertently, that J-Lo was pregnant.

Asked what types of clothing he designs for celebrities, the fashion designer told People magazine: "Well Jennifer Lopez, at this moment, she requests something very special because she is waiting for the baby.

"It is so complicated because every week she is getting bigger."


Marc Anthony in baby hint - Oct 23 2007
J-Lo’s hubby Marc Anthony added to the speculation that the singer is pregnant by making a special song dedication to his wife and co-tour headliner at a Los Angeles show on Friday, reports Usmagazine.com.

"I’m going to take a chance and dedicate this to Jennifer," Marc told the crowd at LA’s Staple Centre, before belting out ’Faithfully’, a song whose opening lines begin ’they say that the road ain’t no place to start a family’.

J-Lo has refused to discuss the rumours that she is having her first child, despite recent paparazzi shots showing what seems to be an increasingly visible bump. She recently told talk show host Diane Sawyer; "This is really, really a great, happy time in my life. Everything’s great."

She and Marc Anthony’s 14-city US tour comes to an end on November 4 in Orlando, Florida. They have been on the road since September 29, when they kicked off the tour in Atlantic City.
