But according to the Voice of an Angel star’s mother Maria, her pregnancy has not changed the couple’s plans.

She told Reveal magazine: "Charl is pregnant and all of a sudden the whole world thinks she’s getting married quickly.

"This is 2007, not 1807. She and Gav want to take their time and do it right - not be forced into a wedding.

"I can assure everyone that Charl and Gav are not getting married before the baby comes. Charl certainly won’t walk down the aisle a pregnant bride."

The singer-turned-chat show host is expecting her first child in September.

Church has been having baby scans every two weeks, as well as routine tests at 12 and 20 weeks.

Charlotte’s baby nerves - April 12 2007
A worried Charlotte Church is apparently having baby scans every fortnight - as well as having the normal 12 and 20 week check-ups.

The 21-year-old is having her first baby with her rugby player boyfriend Gavin Henson, 25, and while there is no suggestion that there is any problem, the Sun reports that the singer is being very cautious.

"She’s been told everything is fantastic with the baby but wants to keep her mind at rest," mum Maria told the paper, adding: "The 12-week scan showed everything is fine."

The baby is not due until October and Charlotte continues to work presenting her weekly chatshow.

A friend told the Sun: "Charlotte is doing great but she is really worried about putting on too much weight."

At least she won’t have the added worry of organising a wedding any time soon. She recently slammed rumours that she was planning to marry Gavin before the baby’s born.

"I never really dreamed about getting married when I was a little girl," she said. "It’s not a massive issue for me."

Charlotte denies wedding rumours - Mar 28 2007
Charlotte Church has rubbished rumours she’s set to wed boyfriend Gavin Henson next month.

Sources had suggested the pregnant star wanted to get hitched before her baby bump got too big, but Charlotte tells Closer magazine it’s completely untrue.

"That’s the biggest load of s**t. It’s b******s," she says, adding that exchanging vows isn’t even that important to her.

"Some women are like, ’Ooh, I can’t wait to get the big white dress on and walk down the aisle.’ But I’ve never been like that. I never really dreamed about getting married when I was a little girl," says 21-year-old Charlotte. "It’s not a massive issue for me."

The singer turned TV presenter admits she hasn’t even started planning her nuptials with rugby ace Gavin.

"I haven’t even thought about what sort of wedding I’d want, as I don’t know how I’d feel at the time," she says. "It would depend on what my fella wanted as well."

Charlotte and Gavin’s first baby is due this autumn.

Charlotte to name baby Gavin? - Mar 21 2007
Charlotte Church is apparently convinced her unborn baby is a boy - and wants to name him after his daddy.

The pregnant singer is so sure that she and Gavin Henson are expecting a son that she’s concentrating on picking out names for boys, reports the Daily Star. And Gavin is at the top of the list.

Her mum Maria said: "The whole family is convinced Charl is having a boy. It’s just a feeling we all have."

Biography

Born in Llandaff, Charlotte Church has loved music ever since she can remember. "When I was three-and-a-half, I sang ’Ghostbusters’ with my cousin at a seaside holiday camp in Caernarfon. When we’d finished, she left the stage, but I refused to go, they had to drag me off!"

Five years later and Charlotte was making a name for herself at local karaoke competitions, and then...

"I was watching the Richard and Judy show on TV and they said they were looking for talented kids. No-one was around so I phoned up," she says. "The producers said I had to sing down the phone. So I did ’Pie Jesu’ and that was it, I was invited on the show. Mum and Dad were the last to find out!"

This led to even more television performances, as well as high profile concerts at the London Palladium, the Royal Albert Hall and Cardiff Arms Park. "It all went a bit mad!" laughs Charlotte.

Now eighteen Charlotte has become a media icon. A ill advised relationship with ’model’ and all round bad boy Steven Johnson and on going arguments with her mother have put Charlotte very much under public scrutiny, but it has only made her more popular. Charlotte will turn her hand to anything these days, she presented Have I Got News For You? made a guest appearance on a dance track and even starred in a film, I’ll Be There. She is a chat show regular, openly voicing her opinions about fellow stars in a very down to earth way.

She may be one of the richest teenagers in the UK after coming into her fortune on her eighteenth but Charlotte Church is as normal as they come.
