'Insulting' McCririck thrown off show - Sept 20 2007
John McCririck was thrown off Alan Titchmarsh's chat show for insulting Chris Tarrant's estranged wife, Ingrid.

The racing pundit told her: "You must be terrible in bed for Chris to leave you."

Ingrid recently gave an interview claiming that her ex was bad in bed.

Her revelations angered McCririck, who said: "You had a cheek to say that he smelt of vindaloo and fish and chips in bed, what's wrong with that?

"You're such a ghastly woman. You can't be any good in bed, that's why he strayed away.

"All I can say is poor old Chris Tarrant, look at what he had to work with if he was bad in bed."

At that point, Titchmarsh ejected McCririck from the teatime show, saying: "Go on, off you go."

Afterwards he explained: "I was not prepared to listen to one guest on my show being gratuitously insulting to another."

CBB John says trio are racist - Jan 18 2007
Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant John McCririck has weighed into the CBB racism debate, saying Jade, Danielle and Jo had exposed their racist views.

He said: "Germaine Greer walked out of the Big Brother house two years ago after four days because she believed I was being bullied.

"Confrontation and conflict are what makes the programme compulsive viewing so when you put the Goody clan in they provide the expected mayhem.

"But the insidious way Danielle and Jo have unknowingly revealed their inner racial prejudices demonstrate attitudes that millions of non-white British citizens have to endure daily.

"Both don’t believe they’re racist and will come out proclaiming they have numerous non-white friends and colleagues.

Biography

Born in 1940, John McCririck is one of the nation’s most eccentric sporting commentators. Having worked as a bookie and a writer (both of which he admits he was not good at) McCririck was offered a job on Channel 4’s racing coverage, where his flamboyancy and ability to make every sentence he spoke near impossible to understand made him something of a legend. Having published a book, John McCririck’s World of Racing, and appeared on episodes of news spoof show Brass Eye, he has become something of a legend.

2005 saw McCririck display a different side to himself - an appearance on Big Brother saw him, quite rightly, branded sexist.  Not only were we introduced to his long suffering wife Booby, but his obsession with similarly named parts of the female anatomy.  Following his reality debut up an appearance on Channel 4’s infuriating Wife Swap John spent a week living with Edwina Curry, much to the nation’s amusement.  This was closely followed by an appearance on daytime chat show Loose Women, which saw him booed off of the stage.
