Strictly Come Dancing star Alesha Dixon is apparently dating footballer John Carew.

The former Misteeq singer - who split for husband, So Solid Crew's MC Harvey in 2006 after he cheated on her with fellow pop star Javine Hylton - has been spotted out enjoying several romantic meals with the Norwegian Aston Villa player at exclusive London restaurants, according to The Sun.

A source told the newspaper: "She deserves to be with someone nice after what she's been through.

"She's so lovely and lights up every room she walks into. It's great she's found someone who makes her smile.

"He's a gentle giant. He's a massive bloke, but a really nice guy."

Alesha, 29, was devastated when her marriage ended but after winning the BBC dance contest last year she said: "Now I'm happy. Strictly gave me a zest for life."

John, 28, is said to be strictly religious and is known for his charity work, contributing to organisations like Soccer Against Crime.

Alesha told FHM magazine earlier this year that she is not fussy when it comes to men.

She said: "I go for all sorts. I was speaking to a friend about this the other day and I realised I don't have a type.

"I'm not restricting myself to black guys or white guys, brunettes or blondes. All types of looks are OK."

Strictly Come Dancing queen Alesha Dixon has told how she blamed herself for her husband’s affair with pop star Javine and has lashed out at former bosses for wanting her to lose weight.

Alesha, 29, was devastated when rapper MC Harvey was caught bed-hopping with Javine Hylton, who has now given birth to his daughter.

She told Company magazine: "It was like my whole world had just collapsed around me.

"I’m a big believer in karma, and I felt I must have done something to invite it into my life. I tried to take the blame."

But she said she had moved on and forgiven Harvey, adding: "I’m over it."

The former Misteeq singer said she was also angry after recently discovering that former bosses had wanted her to shed some weight.

She said: "I’ve lost weight from Strictly and I don’t want to. I put some skinny jeans on the other day. I used to have to tuck my love handles into them.

"But now they’re baggy. I was like ’Nooo!’. I don’t care about having boobs, but I care about filling my jeans. That’s when you look womanly.

"I found out the other day that, a while ago, some old bosses asked someone to have a word with me about losing weight. It’s disgusting. I’m not overweight and I’m not skinny, so to tell me to lose weight - what kind of message is that to girls?"

Alesha to dance for Brucie - Feb 8 2008
Alesha Dixon has said she’s looking forward to reuniting with her Strictly Come Dancing partner Matthew Cutler.

The pair will be taking to the floor together again to honour Bruce Forsyth, presenter of the hit TV show, as he celebrates his 80th birthday later this month.

"I’ll be dancing next week with Matt. He’s on tour with the rest of the Strictly crew, but next week is Bruce Forsyth’s 80th birthday and we’re getting together to do a one-off special for that," said the Strictly winner of the TV special.

"I imagine (Bruce) will get up and do something too - Bruce Forsyth is a legend. He’s been entertaining us for years - I’m going to really really enjoy dancing with Matt again in celebration of a legend."
