Wayne Rooney
- Profession: Professional Football Player
- Place/Date of Birth: Liverpool, 24 October 1985
- Associated with: Coleen McLoughlin
It is not the first time Wayne has found trouble in recent times. Last month he gave Blackburn’s Michael Gray a black eye following a dispute in a Manchester restaurant, although again it appeared Rooney was not the instigator.
Like the national team, the 20-year-old is going through a difficult spell as he endures the first dip in form of his career. He has now gone over two years since his last competitive goal for England.
P-Diddy’ll Do It - Sept 2006
Forget long training sessions or laying off the burgers. P-Diddy reckons he can make Wayne Rooney a better footballer. Rooney bid £20,000 for a weekend with Diddy at the Beckham’s World Cup party and the rapper has been waxing lyrical about the plans he’s got for their get together ever since. "I promise you when he comes back he’ll be a better footballer," says Diddy who has also said he will get New York’s best stores closed so Colleen can enjoy some shopping time alone. "After he comes to New York," the Diddy man rambles on "we’ll probably be cousins. It’ll be a non-stop party with lots of sexy ladies." Right-o.
Moyes Mad - Aug 2006
Wayne Rooney’s former manager will sue over the footballer’s autobiography according to reports. Everton manager David Moyes is taking the Daily Mail to court for printing extracts from Rooney’s biography which discuss the circumstances surrounding his exit from the club and he has also threatened to sue Rooney himself. The extract sees Rooney claim that Moyes was overbearing and controlling during his time at the Liverpool club and was ultimately the reason that he chose to leave for Manchester United. Nothing to do with the fifty thousand a week then Wayne?
Wayne clashes with six-year-old - June 05
According to the Sunday Mirror (again) Wayne has launched a verbal attack on a young fan and his father when the boy took a picture of fiancé Colleen as she came out of a fish and chip shop.
During the incident Wayne is alleged to have displayed his macho credentials by bravely shouting at the boy: "I’m going to get you, you f***ing bastard" before spitting at a car window.
Both Wayne and Colleen have denied this version of events, claiming that the boy’s father was drunk and abusive.

Rooney’s bum rap - June 05
Another week, another tale of unsavoury off-the-pitch antics. This time the sleaze-prone footballer has gotten himself in trouble for groping a girl’s bottom in a nightclub.
Unfortunately for Rooney, the rear in question belonged to a Sunday Mirror newspaper reporter, and the story consequently made front page news under the unflattering headline ’Sex Pest Rooney.’
Wayne and fiancé Colleen haven’t let these latest revelations affect their holiday plans - they have since jetted off to Barbados for a romantic break.

Rooney’s prang - May 05
Wayne Rooney has escaped with minor injuries from a car crash. The footballing wonderkid smashed up his fifty grand BMW X5 in a collision with a Nissan Primera driven by a middle aged woman. The police have summoned Manchester United player Rooney to court over the incident and he now faces charges of driving without due care and attention with a maximum fine of £5,000 and a driving ban. He will be sentenced later in May.

During a well remembered game for Everton he sported a tshirt bearing the slogan ’once a blue, always a blue’. Just a short time later he demanded a transfer and was sold to Manchester United, where he remains. He has also made several appearances for the English national side however, his success was marred by his 2006 World Cup sending off alongside the broken foot which almost saw him miss out on the tournament.
Footballing talent aside Wayne is probably better known as Mr Colleen McLoughlin these days. He is engaged to his childhood sweetheart who has stuck by him through tabloid accusations of visits to prostitutes and gambling problems. He has also won libel damages from The Sun and News of the World after they claimed he had assaulted Colleen in a nightclub.
Rooney has recently signed the biggest sports publishing deal ever and will let us in on his secrets over the course of his career through the medium of ghost writer. However, even before his first book hits the shelves he has stumbled on controversy - Everton manager David Moyes is to sue his former wonderboy over claims surrounding his exit from the football club. It seems that wherever this Croxteth lad goes trouble is sure to follow...
