The 32-year-old singer has never wavered in her belief that her former boyfriend was the father, despite Eddie’s very public querying of it.

A friend said of the result: "There was no doubt in people’s minds anyway, least of all hers. It wasn’t a surprise to her. She knew all along."

The actor recently vowed to stand by Mel if a DNA test proved he was the dad.

So far though, neither side has commented on the question of child support.


Mel B commissions scary pushchair - June 22 2007
Mel B has requested a personalised leopard print pushchair for new daughter Angel.

The former Spice Girl has chosen the Mobi buggy from fashion focused brand Cosatto, which already has a host of celebrity followers including Davina McCall, Amanda Holden and Geri Halliwell.

The brunette contacted the company and asked if they could design a leopard print version just for her - because there is a waiting list of eight weeks for this new range.

The makers at Cosatto quickly got to work, creating a pushchair with leopard print silk lining, a chocolate brown exterior, bright pink stitching and a gold frame.

Lisa Joyce from Cosatto said: "We can’t make them quick enough! Since launching them to our stockists in May, we have had three times the number of orders we expected and some retailers have already got customers lined up to take delivery of new product lined up until November.

"We were delighted when Mel B got in touch - we hope the design reflects her strong personality and we wish both her and Angel all the very best for the future."

Eddie Murphy has taken a DNA test to determine whether or not he is the father of Melanie Brown’s 2-month-old daughter, spokeswoman for the singer said.

Mel B, also known as Scary Spice when she performed with the 90s pop group Spice Girls, dated Mr Murphy last year and has maintained that the child is his.

The 32-year-old singer gave birth to Angel Iris Murphy Brown on April 3. She listed Murphy as the father on the birth certificate.

Brown also has an 8-year-old daughter. Murphy has five children from his marriage to Nicole Mitchell Murphy.

Murphy’s spokesman, Arnold Robinson, has consistently declined to comment to about Brown’s claims.

He said he would not confirm the paternity test, adding: "We do not comment on Mr Murphy’s personal life."

When asked about impending fatherhood in December, Murphy told a television reporter: "And I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, Sir."

Mel B is reportedly planning to lift the lid on her relationship with Eddie Murphy in a TV show.

It seems the former Spice Girl is about to sign on the dotted line with a major TV company to spill the beans on what she thinks about the Beverly Hills Cop star - who wants her to prove he is the father of her baby, Angel.

According to Star magazine, Mel is intent on revenge - and as well as demanding £3,000 a month in child maintenance, she will also demand a one-off fee to buy a new home in Los Angeles.

A source said: "Mel is done with him trying to make her look like a fool. Denying that he is the dad, is just absurd. Unless it was immaculate conception, the DNA test will prove he is the father."
