Kerry Katona is in hospital after she showed signs of the potentially fatal condition pre-eclampsia, her spokesman Max Clifford said.

The 27-year-old former winner of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! left rehab just days ago and is now being treated in Macclesfield, Cheshire, Mr Clifford said.

Katona, who plans to name her unborn baby boy Maxwell after the full first name of the PR guru, is there as a "precautionary measure", he confirmed.

"She's been in a lot of pain, particularly in the last few days," he said.

"The symptoms she's showing are possibly that of pre-eclampsia."

He said Katona, a former member of the girl band Atomic Kitten, had been troubled by swollen feet and legs and pains going up her feet.

"It could be water retention," Mr Clifford said. "She's still in hospital at the moment.

"She has been in increasing pain. She can hardly walk."

The troubled star has two daughters with her first husband, former Westlife singer Brian McFadden, and a third daughter with her second husband, Mark Croft.

Her first son is due in May and Mr Clifford said having the baby named after him would be "lovely".

Kerry Katona reportedly wants to axe her own reality TV show.

The former Atomic Kitten is apparently so upset by the response to her new show with husband Mark Croft - Kerry Katona: Crazy In Love - she has threatened to quit and wants to stop filming, according to Star magazine.

A source said: "Kerry was gutted when she saw the first episode.

"She said: ’Me and Mark look so bad. Things we’ve said have been taken out of context and now we look like we’re always arguing. I just hope it gets better in the future’.

The 27-year-old former I’m A Celebrity star hoped that the programme would show "the real Kerry" and win over critics who have branded her a bad mother and claimed Mark is just with her for her money.

The source added: "Kerry is fuming about the way she and Mark have come across.

"She thinks she’s been stitched up and is furious that the final edit has shown her having arguments with Mark where he’s called her ’Ratty little cow’ and ’You tramp’.

"She is so appalled at how she and Mark have come across that she wants to stop filming but knows she can’t because of contractual obligations. Whether they’ll have a break to sort this out, only time will tell."

Kerry Katona was reportedly furious to have been left out of the Atomic Kitten reunion.

The heavily pregnant reality TV star - who quit the band in 2001 to be replaced by Jenny Frost just as their single Whole Again became No 1 - has apparently hit out at Liz McClarnon, 26, and Natasha Hamilton, 25, for not inviting her to their reunion in Liverpool last month.

Kerry is quoted in New! magazine saying: "I made that fr***ing band, but they never bothered to invite me back."

The band reformed without Kerry to release Anyone Who Had A Heart on January 27 this year as part of the Liverpool Number One Project.

Kerry is also quoted as saying: "I know their single bombed but that’s because without me they’re nothing.

"I mean, look at their career against mine!"

The 27-year-old mother-of-three was asked to leave the band when she fell pregnant with her first child by then boyfriend Brian McFadden of Westlife.
