Lady Eliose commented ’Philip’s agency is going to be called Superstars, which I think is a wonderful name. He’s such an influential person that I’m really honoured to be part of the agency and I just hope I’ll do it justice. It is a lot of responsibility because, you know, I am the only model in it.’

A Blow for Isabella - 10/01/03
Isabella Blow’s 13-year marriage has apparently come to an end.

The 44-year-old fashion expert, who is credited with setting the likes of Alexander McQueen, Sophie Dahl and Philip Treacy on the road to fashion stardom, has been telling friends that she and Detmar Blow, whom she married in Gloucester Cathedral in 1989, have separated.

Isabella, who is currently fashion director of Tatler magazine, met Detmar, who runs the Modern Art Inc gallery in East London, at a wedding in Salisbury Cathedral in 1988 and became engaged to him just 16 days later

Blow’s up for Liverpool - 07/11/02

Isabella Blow, the new fashion director of Tatler Magazine, has declared her love for Liverpool. The 44-year-old style queen, widely credited for her discovery of designer Alexander McQueen and model Sophie Dahl, has decreed Liverpool to be the new fashion capital of Britain.

"I simply adore Liverpool," she gushes. "It has so much to offer in terms of location, people and shops. When I arrived there for the Biennial last month, the first thing I saw was the Liver Birds." She added

"I think Liverpool people naturally wear more fashion than the inhabitants of any other British city, The girls there are wonderful. They all wear high-heels and think you’re a lesbian if you wear flat shoes."

She has taken a shine to the city so much so that rallied her famous friends to help set up a fashion shoot at the Royal Liver Building this month.

Isabella Blow is a well known face and name within the fashion world, you can constantly be seen at all the main fashion shows (front row, no less)

An anarchist from an early age, Isabella defied her mother’s strict sartorial instructions. She comes from a family of eccentrics - her grandmother wrote ’Once a cannibal’ in the hobbies section of her entry in Who’s Who.

At Heathfield, Isabella was head of chapel and wanted to become a nun. Her first job was cleaning houses from top to bottom. Her main talent is for spotting talent in others.

She is also a stylist, surrealist, patroness she also describes herself as ’a pig sniffing for truffles in the forest’. Discoveries include most of the Brit Art pack, Philip Treacy, Alexander McQueen and models Stella Tennant, Honor Fraser and Sophie Dahl. Apparently she loves erotica and ’being naughty’.
