Wimbledon resident Annebel Croft is going to be part of a new series of Superstars - where sports stars get to compete in track and field event outside their usual expertise.
Annabel was the youngest Briton to play tennis at Wimbledon; when she took part in the competition at the age of 15. She will be joining other sports stars such as Dennis Wise, Stuart Pearce and Steve Collins, and they will be staying in an Olympic style village in Spain to live and compete against eachother.
Superstars was a hugely popular show in the early eighties - and it has just been confirmed that Johnny Vaughan and Suzi Perry will be presenting this new look show, airing in summer.
Annabel took up tennis at the age of 9 and at the age of 15, she became the youngest Briton to play at Wimbledon for nearly 100 years.
She was a Wimbledon junior champion in 1984, and a year later picked up her first senior tournament title in San Diego.
Annabel retired from the international circuit at 21 while ranked in the world’s top 25 after having established herself as British number one.
She has since carved out a career in the media, particularly on TV, working as a tennis presenter and summariser for Eurosport.
Annabel married former Americas Cup yachtsman Mel Coleman in 1993, and the couple have three children and live in Wimbledon.
