What's It About? Fields are like, so passe.  The grounds of stately homes have been done to death.  And as for inner city parks and squares...pah!  Zoo Thousand has gone one better in order to bring out the festival animal in you - this little gem is set in Kent's lovely Port Lympne Zoo.

That's right, the monkeys are grooving to Mark Ronson, the Cheetahs are loving The Cribs and the dromoderies are getting down to Dizzee at this fantastic festie where eclectic music meets monkeying around.  With a line up to make even the big name festivals green with envy this event offers some of the biggest names in new music including The Young Knives, Lethal Bizzle, Gallows and The Rumble Strips plus the likes of Roni Size, The Hives and er, Chas and Dave too.

Set to be one of the most talked about events on the calender for cool sounds plus pure quirk, this is a chance to catch a big scale festival with small ideals - environmental as well as musical - before it skyrockets (and, of course, to get down with the giraffes).

Book Now If You Love: The pop-meets-alternative sounds of V but without the mainstream side.

Don't Miss: Man of the moment Ronson or nu-rave pioneers Hadouken!

Want to Go?  Tickets are all inclusive (no booking fee!) £99 for the weekend www.etickets.to or www.zoothousand.com for more info.

"Back ground I take my 16 year old son and 13 year old daughter to concerts in London. The lad is a new rave/indie fan and the daughter an emo/rock lass.We choose Zoo8 to enable Sam to visit his 1st 3 day music festival under canvas.Let's get the bad bits out 1st Email from organisers to all members saying camping opening at 8 am arrived the previous day. This did not happen bodies through gates started at 10 am.Security were not informed through out the weekend of any changes in the program Toilets were not clean.NO fresh usable water on site!!!
The ,magority of bands we wanted to see we saw.Dizzie Rascal had told the organisers that as they hadn't paid him he would'nt be playing three days before the event! This was a reoccuring theme throughout the weekend. The list of greats, in no particular order.Ghost of a thousand,Lights Action,Gallows,Kid Harpoon (thanx to him for taking us VIP)The Bizzel was allright but not all that. The list of beyond greatness.Clik Clik (thanx Stephan and Maya)
HADOUKEN! who saved the day and in my opinion were THE band of the weekend.Oh and yes if you saw an indie lad with a hat and shoes that looked like James Hadoukens that was Sam and yes James got his from Japan and Sam got his from America and they are the same Nike Dunks. We met Alice Chriss and Nick at the Clik Clik gig and they chatted ,did photo,s aigned autograths and top hole moment signed my sons limited members only Aireals shirt. We had seen Hadouken! but a few weeks ago at the electric ballroom and they matched that performance considered by some to be there best performance ever!!!!My higlight being that the band members treated Sam so well and were just great guys(so much for the bands of today dont blah blah blah that you hear from some)Sam'z highlite came last day when his 2nd favourite band of all time played that being Funeral for a Friend.I had heard them through the house on occasions but by the end of the set they had another fan ..me!..Sam loved it they were magnificent. For us it was a good festiva for the music but not for most other things. lasting moments were Frank Carter informing those in the tap'n'tin tent that Mark Ronson," Diva and c*@t" ,had taken 4 hours to do his sound check so loosing two bands from each stage there moment and also keeping all the festival revelers waiting for two extra hours!!Its your music thats crap Diva, not the sound system.
Last word came from James HADOUKEN! he dedicated a song ,Superstar, to the organisers starting with the lyrics "Go back from where you came from" "and pay your artists " was added thier benefit.
Will there be a festival next year who knows.Ive allready read official word that the festival was a resounding success,so thought the organisers.I'm not so sure about that.If that is to happen then things need to be looked at seriously as a site with NO water for consumption by all punters and toilets that are not cleaned are are fire health issues that can't be allowed to happen again.

Just for the record I'm 50 and have done too many festivals over the years and like wise concerts and now I am passing the baton on to my children so that they will take the their children to festivals and concerts.Music needs to be kept live in this age of the inter web and that only happens by getting out there amongst it."

"the festival was a shambles. it was badly organized and it seemed as if half of the bands advertised were never actually goin an they advertised them there to grab our attention and lied. im never goin again it was a mess. the only good parts of the festival were lethal bizzle who cover immensely for dizzee rascal who ALSO had a no show.Mark Ronson and the version players had a fabulous performance and it would of been i shame if i had missed it. BRING BACK ELECTRIC GARDENS"

"I thought zoo8 was really unorganized, none of the bands turned up, the tents werent labled well enough, it was over priced, non vip or AAA peopple were getting into vip area. It was a waste of money
and a bad impression for zoo8's first time also all camping passes were sold out on the first day, so even if you had bought camping online and you came too late, you had no where to camp
Seriously, unoragnised, MORE GOOD BANDS!"

"This event was a total joke.

Queuing for 4 hours in the roasting sun just to get in. The camp site was rammed at 5pm on Friday. There were so few toilets in the camping it was a farce. No running water and no washing facilities.

Then- almost none of the headlining acts turned up- apparently due to problems with being paid.

The organisation was a shambles. We left a day early after getting fed up with the condtitions and so many acts not turning up.

Basically the whole a massive con! I suggest everyone lend their weight in getting money refunded. I'll be damned if my hard earned cash is going towards the promoter buying a new speedboat for such a poor show.

Lethal Bizzle and Mark Ronson deserve a mention because they were awesome.

Complain now!"
